WHITE WHALE
AUDUBON PARK
SECOND STORY MAN

Local 506, 9pm, $7

[SHOULD BE HUMOROUS PHOTO FOUND ON INTERNET BUT INSTEAD IS SMALL X]

White Whale is the new band of Matt Suggs from Butterglory (and his own personal) fame. They have a new record out on Merge that WordNerdy loves. That should be good enough for you.

Second Story Man are from Louisville and are excellent. We've played with them before, and if you are the type of person who reads this page, then you probably saw them then too, and probably liked it and want to see them again, so you will decide to show up on time and do so. Really, they are worth it and are starting a long tour in support of their new record, so how about we give them a) a good send off and b) a reason to think CH is the jam.

AP? We've finished the record, practiced a bunch, written new songs and are generally ready to show off before a large crowd. Please, if you come, bring a friend.

Girl needs to smoke some weed.

I heard this on NPR this morning. Uh, this I believe: You must fucking chill out!

Meanwhile, RB and I watched this last night and laughed.

From today's NY Times, story titled "Bush May Send Rice to Help Calm Mideast":

"Leaning over the back of Mr. Bush’s chair, Mr. Blair first brought up trade discussions, as the president chewed thoughtfully on a roll."

RIP

Syd Barrett is dead.

JUGBAND BLUES (from Saucerful of Secrets)
It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here
And I'm much obliged to you for making it clear That I'm not here.
And I never knew the moon could be so big
And I never knew the moon could be so blue
And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes
And brought me here instead dressed in red
And I'm wondering who could be writing this song.

I don't care if the sun don't shine
And I don't care if nothing is mine
And I don't care if I'm nervous with you
I'll do my loving in the winter.

(Salvation Army Band)

And the sea isn't green
And I love the queen
And what exactly is a dream
And what exactly is a joke.
